POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to service and maintain the site. As a primary service engineer for assigned accounts, incumbents’ diagnoses & resolves most equipment problems working independently and provides required preventative maintenance and service on all assigned equipment. This position will be used within Customer Service and applies to all modalities and requires limited supervision.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Identifies customer issues, assesses situations and provides optimal resolution while providing the customer with the appropriate communication. Diagnoses to the component level and provides explanation of repair status and resolution to the customer, peers and internal management.

  2. Sets realistic customer expectations and communicates frequently and thoroughly with all levels of command at the clinical side of the business.

  3. Ensures effective use of company assets which includes labor time, parts inventory levels, tools, test equipment calibration, RMA’s, customer purchase orders, equipment, company vehicle, business expenditures, etc.

  4. Actively participates in one or more regional peer team meetings.

  5. Interprets a variety of technical instructions to effectively solve problems and provide appropriate follow up on all on-going issues.

  6. Adheres to established quality requirements, (FDA - ISO9000), and safety requirements (electrical & radiation safety, safe lifting practices, etc.).

  7. In conjunction with management, this position has responsibility for managing their assigned areas. This position is responsible for managing all vendor personnel they have employed to support technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of electronics and/or biomedical as normally obtained through the completion of an associate’s degree in electronics.

Must posses a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Previous experience with electronic circuit boards, processors and computer hardware including applications, programming and systems functionally required. Demonstrated mechanical repair and diagnostic troubleshooting skills as typically achieved through four years exposure to the electronics/computer industry in a field service environment. Experience in diagnostic imaging equipment is a plus. Must possess demonstrated skills in using an oscilloscope, digital multimeter, etc Experience / Knowledge of telecommunication systems. Must possess fundamental knowledge of Dicom & Networking. Knowledge of regulatory requirement (Federal and State Radiation performance standards, registration, Quality Systems Regulations, EPA regulations and OSHA regulations required. Able to share knowledge and cooperate in a team environment to achieve assigned goals and objectives take direction from team leaders and proactively complete assignments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related education and/or experience preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
